Yesterday the Senate confirmed nominee Alex Azar as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Azar, a former pharmaceutical executive and head of Eli Lilly’s United States operations, follows Tom Price, who resigned last September amid scrutiny over his use of private jets for government business. The confirmation will see Azar returning to the HHS, having served in senior roles during George W. Bush’s administration.
