How will the closely-watched Amazon-Berkshire-JP Morgan partnership transform American healthcare?

One person who may have a better idea now is its new Chief Operating Officer, Jack Stoddard, whose hiring was reported earlier this month by CNBC’s Christina Farr.

Stoddard comes to the new venture from Comcast, where he served as the general manager of that company’s digital health unit. He previously helped create Optum — UnitedHealth’s highly profitable claims processing engine.

His hiring on September 4 was the organization’s first major personnel announcement since July, 2018, when it brought on physician and author Atul Gawande to serve as its CEO.
