Cigna recently announced that it has acquired healthtech firm Brighter. The total amount of the deal was not revealed. The California-based digital IT company has historically provided technology solutions for dental practices to improve the customer experience. In a similar manner, the Cigna acquisition will “accelerate [Cigna’s] development of mobile and desktop platforms.” Cigna will apply Brighter’s technology toward consumer engagement, as well as cost-effective services and data-driven recommendations for providers.
