Although US hospitals and provider organizations are increasingly migrating to cloud-based systems, reliability and patient data security are lingering concerns. “Some workloads are not optimal for the cloud for operational, financial, or compliance-related reasons,” noted Forbes analyst Mike Fuhrman. That’s led some CIOs and CTOs to pursue a hybrid approach to patient data management and storage, involving “a mix of cloud, colo and on-premise data infrastructure.”
