The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced new government-wide focus on interoperability on Tuesday at HIMSS18. CMS Administrator Seema Verma spoke about the administration’s goal of easing patients’ access to their own health data while also launching MyHealthEData, a new initiative providing patients with a digital copy of their health records through open application programming interfaces (APIs).
