Anxious to know if you’re eligible for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) that began January 1 of this year? The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released an updated tool to help you find out.
The web-based tool — available here — prompts physicians to enter their 10-digit national provider identifier, then reports on their eligibility status.
Before you check: physicians, practices and provider organizations that annually bill $90,000 or less in Medicare Part B charges, or that provide services covered under the physician fee schedule to 200 or fewer Medicare Part B patients, are not eligible for MIPS participation in 2018.
