The United States Food and Drug Administration yesterday announced plans for a Digital Health Center of Excellence as part of its requested funding for 2019. President Trump’s $4.4 trillion budget for 2019 would allocate roughly $400 million to the FDA. The proposed Center of Excellence would evaluate third-party digital health technology providers on cybersecurity, rather than individual products, to streamline regulatory processes.
