Early this month, Geisinger announced that it will offer unlimited, free follow-up care for those plan members who undergo hip replacement surgery. The health system partnered with medical device-maker Medacta, which will share costs of care with Geisinger. “The program is one of many things we do at Geisinger that is looking at the patient for their lifetime and their entire spectrum of health,” said Geisinger’s Dr. Michael Suk. “We have the ability to leverage the entire continuum of care to keep people in their ideal health state.”
