Frustrated by continually rising – and frequently spiking – pharmaceutical costs, four prominent hospital systems have announced plans to form a nonprofit company to provide generic drugs. Several hundred hospital systems are slated to participate, including Intermountain Healthcare, Trinity Health and Ascension. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has been in consultation with the leaders of the initiative.
