A recent article published in the Harvard Business Review looks at how Health City Cayman Islands (HCCI), a hospital opened by India’s Narayana Health in relation with Ascension, could be a wake-up call to the United States’ healthcare leaders.
As HCCI delivers treatment at 25-40% of prices in the United States, the article’s authors urge healthcare leaders to keep a watchful eye on the organization.
“We contend that U.S. health care providers should pay attention to HCCI for two reasons,” they suggest. “First, they can learn from HCCI how to provide high-quality care while dramatically lowering costs. Second, they should consider opening similar near-shore facilities to treat some of their own patients and to serve as a lab for process innovations.”
