HHS Head Suggests Cancelling MIPS Reporting

Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar has said the organization is considering cutting physician reporting requirements under the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). The White House’s fiscal year 2019 budget proposal offers that the government would grade practices based on collected claims data and patient surveys. A number of physician groups have called for revision to reporting requirements, citing cost and complexity as contributing factors.
