Earlier this week the House of Representatives voted 250-169 in favor of passing legislation making it easier for terminally ill patients to access experimental treatments and trials. The legislation passed the Senate last August, and now will go before the President to be signed into law. Right to try laws currently exist in 40 states.
“Throughout this process, our goal was to ensure patients who had exhausted all other options had the right to try investigational treatments and therapies that gave them a fighting chance,” said Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) in a statement.
