California Medicare Advantage beneficiaries on Humana HMO plans will soon enjoy access to an expanded provider network, thanks to a new collaboration between the insurer and the Heritage Provider Network, a physician-owned integrated care system.

Humana managed care beneficiaries in Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties will now have in-network access to Heritage’s physicians and facilities in Central and Southern California.

In return, Heritage physicians will now receive patient data analytics support from Humana, which boasts a trove of actionable data.

“We will be able to coordinate care needs across our entire system and tailor healthcare services proactively that will bring added value to Humana Medicare Advantage members,” said Heritage’s president and CEO, Dr. Richard Merkin.

The partnership’s overarching goal is to create “a robust care network,” he told Healthcare Finance‘s Susan Morse.
