Humana, Multiplan, UnitedHealth Group’s Optum, UnitedHealthcare and Quest Diagnostics are teaming up to apply blockchain to healthcare provider data. The pilot program aims to make data more accessible as well as improve accuracy by applying blockchain to data sharing between the organizations, with a goal of data being shared and updated in real time.
