Rochester, MN-based Mayo Clinic has announced Gianrico Farrugia, M.D., as its new president and CEO to take over from John Noseworthy, M.D., at the end of the year. Dr. Farrugia currently serves as vice president of Mayo Clinic and CEO of Mayo Clinic in Florida.

“Dr. Farrugia is a visionary and servant leader who brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge ─ both as an innovator and an executive,” said Dr. Noseworthy. “In partnership with our staff across Mayo Clinic, and with a deep commitment to our values and mission, he will affirm Mayo Clinic’s position as the global health care leader for generations to come.”
