Should robust web presence now be considered among best practices for primary care physicians? According to a recent Doctor.com survey of American healthcare consumers, it probably should.
63% of respondents to the industry watcher’s survey indicated that they will choose a doctor with a well-developed online presence over a provider with a less-developed web presence.
And, before you jump to a conclusion that Millennial and Gen Z patients are driving those findings, consider this: they held true for older patient-consumers, too. In fact, the effect was maybe a bit more pronounced among Boomers.
67% of respondents over age 60 indicated that a physician’s online presence strongly influences their ultimate provider choice. And 45% of all American healthcare consumers expressed a strong preference for online appointment scheduling.
