Philips Offers the Business Case for VBC

Value-based care is driven by patient outcomes and, in turn, cost savings. But for many providers, the mere promise of improvement isn’t enough.

A recent whitepaper from Philips Wellcentive presents a business case for adopting value-based care (VBC) models. The key evidence? Accountable care organizations’ growth is tied to VBC, with some getting more than 25% of their revenue from VBC arrangements.

The federal government has also anchored itself into advancing VBC model adoption.

“This administration, and this president, are not interested in incremental steps,” said Alex Azar, Secretary of Health and Human Services. “We are unafraid of disrupting existing arrangements simply because they’re backed by powerful special interests.”
