Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health, the Rothman Institute, Kansas-based Nue Health and 14 physicians have joined together to reopen the Blue Bell Surgery Center, an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) in Plymouth Meeting, Penn.
Blue Bell was first opened in 2008 by a physician-led ownership group. In 2013, a health system provider took over ownership and management of the ASC. In years past, the center had treated approximately 2,000 patients per year.
The new ownership consortium, which includes one of Blue Bell’s original founding physicians, will rename the center Jefferson Health—Blue Bell. It expects to grow the case load to approximately 4,000 patients per year.
