Report: EHR Capabilities Influence Patient Satisfaction

0

The eighth annual Black Book inpatient EHR user survey found that the capabilities a provider’s EHR offers – and maybe more importantly, which ones they don’t offer – matter to patients.

A full 89% of users under 40 reported dissatisfaction with their providers’ technological capabilities. And a further 92% reported dissatisfaction when access to complete medical records was not offered.

“Involvement with healthcare consumers through technologies is proving to be a significant element of patient satisfaction,” said Black Book Research managing partner Doug Brown. “Healthcare consumers more frequently interact through electronic media in 2018, and while they value contact with their providers, they don’t have the patience for lacks in hospital interoperability, incorrect billing and access to scheduling and results.”
