Shareholders Approve CVS, Aetna Merger

Shareholders of both CVS and Aetna have approved the proposed merger between the two companies. In December, it was announced that CVS planned to acquire Aetna for $69 billion. In special meetings held yesterday, 98% of CVS shareholders and 97% of Aetna shareholders approved the deal. The final decision to approve or reject the merger must still come from the Department of Justice.
