A survey conducted by the Pew Research Center found a deep divide among Americans when it comes to their perception of the value of medical treatment. Of those surveyed, 48% believed that treatments are “worth the costs because they allow people to live longer and better quality lives” while 51% claimed treatments “often create as many problems as they solve”. However, a majority (83%) agreed that the high cost of treatment is a significant problem either way.
