UnitedHealth Group has entered second-round bidding to acquire athenahealth, according to Dealreporter.

At the moment, Bain Capital and TPG are also looking into acquisition. UnitedHealth’s Executive Chairman Jeff Immelt has said that athenahealth’s board of directors is still considering various options, whether a full sale, merger, or remaining independent.
