WellCare Health Plans has completed its acquisition of Meridian Health Plan of Michigan, Inc., Meridian Health Plan of Illinois, Inc., and MeridianRx. First announced in May, the deal renders Meridian a fully-owned subsidiary of WellCare. By acquiring Meridian, WellCare’s Medicaid population has expanded by almost 40%.
